King Philip the III
Here's an old classic that's not actually a trick but a great play on words. The props necessary are 3 glasses. 2 of these glasses must be filled with water. The third glass is empty as pictured. Your patter (routine) is as follows: "I have 3 glasses in front of you. Each one represents a king. The first full glass represents King George, the second full glass represents King Henry. Which king does the third, empty, glass represent?" Time limit on this one - 8 minutes. Now remember this is not a trick but a play on words. |
The secret - you casually pick up the first glass and begin pouring it into the third (empty) glass, explaining as you pour - "Who else could it be other than King Philip the III?" (Fill up the third). Take your applause and ask them; "Have you ever been this close to a geek?" |
